I'm new to this Spider thing, so I really appreciate your beautiful site with it's helpful links.  I purchased my Spider this year from the original owner, 81 years old, here in Walla Walla, WA.  He gave me all of the original paperwork.

He ordered the car from a local Ford dealer, took delivery in Turin, Italy, drove it touring there in September 1975, and then had it shipped to Seattle, WA, where it arrived in December 1975.  He was a meticulous building contractor who kept the car in his heated and air-conditioned 5-car garage.

After the death of his first wife, wife #2 didn't like the memories attached, so my baby mostly was driven to the local country club and back.  "She" is still awaiting her 12,000 mile check up.  :-D
 
(Her tires were a little on the "hard" side, so they have been replaced, and I pulled out the original radio (saved it) and put in a CD player.  Otherwise, it is exactly as ordered and delivered.)

Needless to say, I drove her the one mile from his home to mine, and placed her inside the garage!  What fun I've had this summer cruising around town.
